12 of 12 – august ’11!

On the 12th of each month, a bunch of bloggers from around the world take 12 pictures throughout the day.  Here are my pictures for August 12th, 2011!

DSCF8249

8:33 am – bathroom. This is my new digital peak flow/FEV1 meter, it’s pretty sweet.  This thing basically shows how my silly asthmatic lungs are working at a given time.  It’s fancy.

See also — ziploc bags of junk I still haven’t unpacked from working at camp last week.

DSCF8256

10:46 am – kitchen. Peanut butter and nutella sandwich.  Yes, for serious.  So yummy.  It’s like a Reese’s peanut butter cup in sandwich form.

DSCF8259

11:53 am – the bay. This makeup counter was playing really weird techno/poppy music about makeup.  I was highly confused.  I kind of wish I took a video.

DSCF8261

11:56 am – weird light things. Because yes, that is a location.  And yes these are lights.  They are known as the “weird light things” by the person in the next picture and I! :]

DSCF8263

12:05 pm – downtown. OH MY GOODNESS!  IT IS BETHANY!!  Bethany writes a blog called Me With D, and we discovered awhile back that not only do we have the same ophthalmologist [and the same pedi ophthalmologist back in the day] we’re fairly often in rather close proximity to one another.  Anyway, it took several months but we finally met up on a 12 of 12 day!  Bethany is awesome — our wander was so much fun.  Except we kind of got distracted from taking pictures because of talking ;).

DSCF8266

12:13 pm – memorial park. Wandering.  Taking pictures.  Feeling like tourists.  [We got slightly sprayed/misted by one of these fountains on our way back, it was awesome.]

DSCF8269

12:27 pm – downtown. Oldschool prison. Creepy, but awesome.

DSCF8273

12:50 pm – lawn at school. Ran into my cousin, Dean, as I texted him when Bethany and I split and he was at the hotdog cart nearby.  He is a nice cousin and bought me iced tea.

NewImage

6:07 pm – kitchen. Dinner.  So good.

DSCF9001

7:55 pm – shooters. Mini-golf!  My shoes are so match-y.

DSCF9004

8:10 pm – shooters. HOLE IN ONE!

DSCF9009

9:01 pm – perkins. Oh my goodness.  I have wanted this sundae for so long, but I always ended up at Perkins for actual meals and was too full after for dessert.  So awesome.

12 of 12 – july ’11!

On the 12th of the month, a bunch of bloggers from around the world take 12 pictures throughout the day.  These are my pictures for July 12th, 2011!\

DSCF8115

2:36 pm – bus. I forgot about 12 of 12 until we were coming home from our zoo field trip.  So, no animal pictures or fancy playground pictures or anything, how lame is that?  Just the bus in the rearview mirror.  The kiddo I was sitting with thought this picture was really cool :]

Also, everything at the zoo basically was closed and it kind of sucked.  Lamesauce.

DSCF8117

4:44 pm – Tara’s house. This is Tara’s kitchen phone.  Appropriate, no? :]

DSCF8118

6:05 pm – Tara’s car. This is Tara driving back to my house after we bought ice cream and the [UBER EXCITING!] article in the next picture.

DSCF8123

6:31 pm – kitchen. I LOVE INCUBUS!!  New album came out today, so Tara drove us to the mall so I could buy it.  Also we bought ice cream :].  So stoked on this album, it’s SO different than their older stuff.

DSCF8126

8:05 pm – kitchen. Timetable for next fall. Was trying to move my Anatomy lab but just left it there.  This schedule also allows me to accumulate 8.5 hours of work a week, so work is also happy and fully agreeable with that.  I love them.

DSCF8128

8:50 pm – car. On my way to my grandparents, my home for the week.

DSCF8132

9:31 pm – grandparents house. Bit of laundry and some kid art!

DSCF8134

9:50 pm – bathroom. Stop.  Showertime.

DSCF8136

11:14 pm – bedroom. Ready for work.

DSCF8138

11:16 pm – bedroom. My life on a table?  Ye-eah for athletic tape that I used to tape up my knee after screwing it up slightly playing soccer at work!  And, you know, puffers and chocolate my grandma gave me.  And stuff.

DSCF8140

11:16 pm – bedroom. Wearin’ this to work tomorrow [today].  Because nobody at work seems to object to me wearing my Dropkick Murphys shirt.

DSCF8142

11:30 pm – bedroom. This is the room I live in at my grandparents.  The blanket under all the other blankets and under the pillows is simply to hold the pillow I was using to keep my knee up a bit slightly stiller.  Not really sure it succeeded, but oh well.  Good night!

12 of 12 – june ’11!

On the 12th of the month, a bunch of bloggers from around the world take 12 pictures throughout the day.  These are my pictures for June 12th, 2011!  [It just happens to be my not-so-little cousin Dean’s birthday — happy 18th birthday, Deanie!]

DSCF7992 1 dragged12:00 am – kitchen. This is Donald, who was hanging out with Kyra and I at my house while we attempted to film a music video, which did not really happen cause it was too dark outside.

He wanted to be in my 12, so here he is!

DSCF7995

10:00 am – kitchen. Snacks for the day (which I didn’t need to eat).

NewImage

10:28 am – front steps. Like my pink bracelets?  One is a friendship bracelet from Sam, the other is the new band I made for my medical tag yesterday.  They’re unintentionally matchy, but make me smile.

DSCF7999

11:17 am – park. Church picnic, evidently.  Until I started hearing about my church’s picnic, I legit thought that church picnics were fictional events.  I was wrong.

DSCF8008 1 dragged

11:34 am – park. Tara and I climbing the epic ropey structure thing.  Greatest play structure of my life, maybe.  I liked it a lot.

DSCF8016

12:32 pm – downs. For Dean’s 18th birthday, we went to the race track so that Dean could do adult type things like bet, and my thirteen-year-old cousin, Alyssa, could still come.

DSCF8020

2:36 pm – downs. Okay, so I bet on a horse, now what?  My horse didn’t win or anything, and I generally just don’t understand this whole betting on horses thing.

DSCF80223:19 pm – vlt lounge. Hmm, I’ve bet on horses AND went to the VLT lounge and didn’t get ID’d AT ALL.  Usually I’m ID’d as I walk in the door to places.  Either the Downs are slack, or I look old.

DSCF8025

3:45 pm – downs. More horseys.

DSCF8026

3:50 pm – downs. My cousin Kevin, who was very into the racing.  He amused me more than the actual races did.

DSCF8029

3:55 pm – downs. ohmygoodnessisthisoveryet??!  Bored.

DSCF8030

9:02 pm – kitchen. Juice and my epic Curious George background.  Prepping my 12 of 12.

12 of 12 – may ‘11!

On the 12th of each month, a bunch of bloggers take 12 pictures throughout the day.  Here are my pictures for May 12th, 2011!

DSCF7794

9: 04 am – Athletic Center Nap Area.  Here I was trying to do readings, and there were HUNDREDS of high school kids roaming around and screaming in the nap area.  I have no idea why they were on campus, but they were highly distracting.

DSCF7799

9:38 am – Nap area.  Finally I got sick of them and got up and weaved through about 300 more of them and grabbed a London Fog and a muffin.  And then, magically, they were gone!  [The field in the background is where my class played tag last week!]

DSCF7810

2:36 pm – mall.  Lucas.  They honestly do NOT get cuter than my friend Kelly’s son.

DSCF7814

4:02 pm – kitchen.  Life of a kinesiology student.  Gym clothes and textbooks about physical activity are seriously cluttering my kitchen.  It’s mandatory for me to wear gym clothes [including sweatpants] to school on gym prac days, so it ends up all over the place, as do old textbooks that are applicable to current papers.

DSCF7816

4:05 pm – bathroom.  Exciting, eh?  So I figure that being a vegetarian who often forgets to eat until, you know, two PM and is semi-active, I should probably start taking vitamins again.  Centrum makes vitamins called Performance that have higher levels of B-vitamins, but at the pharmacy I looked at on Tuesday they were $26.  At Shoppers, they were $16.  I bought the store-brand and they were $10 for 5 more.  Yay vitamins?

DSCF7817

4:11 pm – kitchen.  My hard drive works a ton better when I actually plug it into my computer.  Makes sense.

DSCF7818

6:22 pm – kitchen.  Have seriously been listening to this song all day.

DSCF7821

6:31 pm – bathroom.  I no lie am dumb enough that I went into the bathroom to use the mirror to take a picture of the shirt I was wearing, only to realize that, DUH, the words would be backwards.  Why I did not take this one in my room is a mystery.  Anyway, that is the shirt I am wearing today.

 DSCF7824

6:55 pm – costco.  WHY ARE THE COSTCO CARTS SO FREAKING TALL??  Also why does everybody pronounce it “cosco” instead of “cosTco”?  By the way, CosTco only seems to have workout pants in large and extra large.  Do they believe that small people like myself don’t have to work out?!

DSCF7826

8:07 pm – marble slab.  Sam and I went for ice cream to the Marble Slab.  You know, to pay $8.25 for ice cream.  It was delicious, though—called Girl’s Best Friend or something, b-day cake ice cream, brownie bits and cookie dough with chocolate syrup blended in . . . and in a white-chocolate waffle-bowl.  I did indeed find happiness within the container.

NEED to work out tomorrow.

DSCF7827 8:55 pm – bedroom.  We then came back to my house and sat in my room for all of three songs with the hippie lights on.

DSCF7829

9:35 pm – wal-mart.  Then we went to Wal-Mart on a mission.  Except it involved actually buying stuff and not shenanigans [whoa, that video was a year ago yesterday!].  PS. I hate wal-mart.

12 of 12 – april ‘11!

On the 12th of each month, a bunch of bloggers take 12 pictures throughout the day.  Here are my pictures for April 12th, 2011!

DSCF7571

8:48 am – bedroom. My e-mail seriously never sleeps, even when I do.

DSCF7572

9:01 am – kitchen. Since I don’t drink coffee, Ventolin has been trying to make itself my replacement for a few years.  Still trying to show the lungs who’s boss :).

DSCF7575

12:36 pm – kitchen. Remnants of lunch. I was hungry and forgot to take a picture first, okay?  It was chocolate milk, grilled cheese and peaches!

DSCF7576

1:27 pm – kitchen. This is basically what I looked at all day, except different pages.  Intro kinesiology final on the 13th.

DSCF7578

1:34 pm – bedroom. Slightly broken guitar, I want to play you.  Must.  Study.

DSCF7580

2:48 pm – entry. Waiting for my coworker to pick me up to go to work.  I love this backpack so much, it’s the perfect size for non-school adventures.  Also love getting rides to work form my awesome coworker.  Also, my coworkers are awesome.

DSCF7581

2:53 pm – front yard. Apparently I liked this?  Grabbing the recycling bins before I head to work.

DSCF7583

2:54 pm – front steps. iPod reminding me to go to work.  I’ve been off for three weeks, I was scared I’d forget.  Actually, it reminds me every week, to be honest.

DSCF7584

5:54 pm – kitchen. Dinner.

DSCF7585

7:07 pm – kitchen. It never ends. Back to the books [and e-mails apparently].

DSCF7586

9:15 pm – kitchen. Actually, I have a quiz to do, too, which serves as good review for part of the exam, I guess.  It’s on this stuff [coaching], Sport and Culture and Issues in Sport.

DSCF7587

9:15 pm – kitchen. Getting serious.  Breaking out the GOOD chocolate.

I was at the studying until 12:20 AM in case you care to know.  We will end with chocolate, though, because that is good and that is TWELVE!

By the way, my amazing and talented friend DREW BROWN did his first 12 of 12 today.  He’s not only a passionate follower of Jesus and amazing musician, he’s also a fabulous photographer.  You can see his first ever 12 of 12 here!

12 of 12 – march ‘11!

On the 12th of each month, a bunch of bloggers take 12 pictures throughout the day.  Here are my pictures for March 12th, 2011!

DSCF7506

11:14 am – car. Perhaps slowly piecing together summer work.  Are you following me on twitter?

DSCF7510

11:38 am – home outfitters. OMG which one do I buy?

DSCF7511

11:42 am – car. The pink one of course!

DSCF7512

12:19 pm – sears. Eugh, old lady clothes.  We discussed aging in Issues in Health on Tuesday – why did nobody mention the terrible clothes as an issue surrounding aging?!

DSCF7513

12:27 pm – mall. This kiosk sells fake tulips.  Wonder how many days THAT kiosk will last?

DSCF7516

5:21 pm – bathroom. Put my hair up though you can’t see.  Makes everything feel so much better.

DSCF7520

6:43 pm – aunt’s house. Butter pecan cupcakes for my grandma’s birthday?! YES PLEASE!

DSCF7524

8:49 pm – aunt’s house. Why are these at the top of my aunt’s stairs?!

DSCF7528

9:28 pm – aunt’s house. Better yet, 1) why is there cheese in my mom’s purse and 2) why is this blurry?

DSCF7533

9:48 pm – back lane. We got stuck in this, we had a semi-blizzard yesterday.  I actually had my first experience having to push a car!  My mom got stuck in this snow, and then she said “Shit!” and then I had to go push.  Good times, mostly.

DSCF7536

10:18 pm – bathroom. Um, bath and “Oh Shit! It’s Jesus!” – sounds good to me.  I am LOVING this book.

DSCF7539

10:59 pm – kitchen. My Live/Ed Kowalczyk obsession is not letting up.  LOVE this stuff.

12 of 12 – february ‘11!

On the 12th of each month, a bunch of bloggers take 12 pictures throughout the day.  Here are my pictures for February 12th, 2011!

DSCF7306

12:00 AM – hotel.  Just arrived back at the hotel after the rock show I nearly slept through.  So tired.  We’re at a youth event that is fondly known as HOTEL-O-RAMA.

DSCF7308

12:13 am – hotel.  Hangin’ with the grade seven girls who are totally awesome.  Time for junk food!

DSCF7309

1:22 am – hotel.  Apples to Apples.  How often do I play this game on the 12th?!  It’s crazy!

DSCF7312

8:20 am – hotel.  Last night the bus made a stop in front of a Shoppers Drug Mart at 11:50 pm.  It produced the junk food from earlier, plus chocolate milk as Brenda just copied other people’s ideas, which made me very happy.

DSCF7313

9:06 am – A&W.  40+ of us walked into A&W for breakfast [no worries, we pre-ordered]

DSCF7316

9:16 am – hotel.  Apparently since ice cream should typically not be eaten at 9 AM [which we were ignoring] both pictures decided to suck.

DSCF7318

11:00 am – hotel.  Headed out RIGHT on time!  Yes, that blue mattress was my bed.  It rocked, I slept awesome.

DSCF7340

11:45 am – home.  OMG.  FLIGHT FOR NEXT SATURDAY BOOKED!

DSCF7319

12:42 pm – Mark’s Work Wearhouse.  I have little understanding of WHY we need a winter simulator in a store when we have legit winter outside.

DSCF7324

3:19 pm – home.  Little pick me up.  I am SO freaking tired [See also: spent 16 awesome hours with junior high kids, got five hours of sleep, which is not in my properly-functional threshold of under 2 hours or over 6 hours].

DSCF7327

5:04 pm – kitchen.  My grandparents, aunt and cousin Dean were coming over for my grandpa’s birthday [which was last weekend].  I told my mom we needed a cupcake cake!  And guess what?  We got this one for all of $7 at Safeway!  EPIC.

DSCF7338

9:26 pm – kitchen.  My action plan for my Issues in Health class this week is based on spiritual wellness—the goal is to read my Bible for 15 minutes a day, five days of the week to get me back in the groove of actually reading it regularly.

Yeah my 12 started early, so it’s ending early.  I’m not going to do anything any more exciting the rest of the day!
